Managing committee home for aged, infirm hold annual general meeting

Jammu, Sept 19: The governing body of home for aged and infirm, Amphalla hold annual general meeting, chaired by its president Dawarkanath Gupta here today. The annual report and audited accounts for the year 2009-10 presented by Secretary Vijay Kumar Bhagotra were adopted by the house. The house appreciated sincere efforts put in by the managing committee for improvement in over the functioning of the home and living conditions of its inmates. Some amendments in the constitution and Bye-Laws proposed by the managing committee were also approved by the house. The new managing committee headed by Dwarka Nath Gupta as president and Vijay Kumar Bhagotra as secretary was unanimously elected for a term of three years. Two male and two female representatives elected for a term of three years. Two male and two female representatives of 62 inmates (including 25 females) expressed satisfaction with the amenities, facilities and medical care etc. being provided to them by the home and appreciated the sincere efforts put in by the management for their over-all welfare. Vidhya Nath Gupta the Vice-President appealed the general public for liberal donations in cash and kind on regular basis for day to day needs of the inmates and further improvement in their facilities and amenities as well as maintenance of requisite infrastructe and assets of the home. The donations to the home are exempted from Income Tax u/s 80G (V) of the Income Tax Act, 1961. he also expressed gratitude to social welfare Department J&K Government for grant-in-aid, amounting to Rs/1,25,000/- as well as the university of Jammu for financial assistance amounting to Rs. 2,00,000/- during year 200-2010. Gupta informed that a recreation centre fro senior citizens has been set up in home which is provided with free facilities like TV, Library, Indoor Games etc where they can interact among themselves and with inmates of the home as well. He appealed the senior citizens to avail this facility. He appealed the public at large to visit the home at their convenience and interest with the inmates so that they do not feel neglected by the society for whose welfare they had also contributed during their active past life.
