Konkan railways engineers called off strike | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT REASI Sept 19: After 2 hrs of long meeting with the Konkan railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) authorities, Engineers finally called off 21 days long strike. Earlier, All J&K Konkan Railways Consulting Engineers Association with all other local employees working with Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. (KRCL) on the project were on strike demanding the regulation of their jobs as most of the civil engineers working with the corporation have crossed the upper age limit. Other major demand was the immediate revocation of the advertisement and extension to the engaged engineers. In the meeting Member Parliament from Reasi Ch. Lal Singh, Former Minister Jugal Kishor Sharma, DC Reasi P K Pole, L Parkesh, Chief Engineer (c 1) Head Quarters, KRCL and other official from Civil and KRCL participated in the meeting. After assurance from KRCL authorities over the demands made by the All J&K Konkan Railways Consulting Engineers Association and all other local employees working with Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd the association called off their strike and will resume their from Monday. This is important to mention here that the Rail project to Kashmir valley is already delayed by 5 years.
