ABVP reacts against autonomy, holds protests | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 20: Reacting against the proposal of autonomy, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarathi Parishad today held a strong protest demonstration at GGM Science College. Students in large number led by Pardeep Sharma and Raghav raised slogan against Autonomy as "Desh bacha lo moka hai, autonomy dokha hai". Speaking on the occasion the city president Ajay Sharma ridiculed autonomy and rejected it in any condition. He stressed that the J&K is an integral part of independent India and this integrated solidarity of the country is beneficial in promoting peace, welfare, progress and development in the state. He alleged that the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah instead of his failure in solving the real issue which the state is facing, is attempting to divert the attention of the people by putting the proposal of autonomy. Ajay sharma further mentioned that on 19th of September Union Home Minister P Chidambaram indicated that Delhi would consider more autonomy for Kashmir in an interview with a national newspaper. According to Home minister "The content of the demand for autonomy is a matter for dialogue and discussion". Chidambaram said he had previously been in "closed-door dialogue" with separatist leaders. After hearing this, those who were present raised the slogan against the Home Minister. Addressing the students, Nasib Ali said that the people of Jammu and Ladakh have always been taken for granted but this time all party delegation must meet and interact with the various political parties, social organizations, students organizations etc and take into consideration their valuable view points. Those were present on this protest demonstration included Chetan, Rajesh, Vivek, Varun, Karan, Sunil, others.
