PYC denounces JKNPP for misconceived statement
9/20/2010 11:14:47 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 20: Pradesh Youth Congress has taken strong exception towards the misdirected, misplaced and misconceived statement of JKNPP President appearing in newspapers.
Addressing the party activists here today, R. S. Pathania, senior Vice-President, J&K PYC, said that Kashmir has virtually become a national issue requiring national concern and national attention, and collaboration and synergized efforts from all political and non-political quarters.
He appreciated the level of responsibility and maturity shown by all prominent national/state parties in the All Party Meet convened by Prime Minister where all of them shared a common table and resolved unanimously to send an all-party delegation to Kashmir to gauge the mood, grievances and aspirations of Kashmiri people and form a benchmark holistic policy.
The delicacy and exigency of the situation is as such that political outfits need to rise above narrow party interests and parochial politicking and scoring unnecessary points and contribute towards an amicable, early and practicable solution to Kashmir stalemate, he said .
"But today's statement seems to be a totally irresponsible, off-the ground and rather a sabotaging tactic on part of JKNPP," said Pathania adding it seems but a manifestation of immature political thinking and mischievous imagination of JKNPP leaders. Condemning such outbursts in strongest words and grammar, Pathania sought an explanation from JKNPP to justify the 'court arrest drama' of JKNPP supremo at Lal Chowk, Srinagar, in support of Geelani.
JKNPP seems to be dancing true to the tune of its virtual masters sitting in Valley, he said.
He further reminded JKNPP leaders of the contributions and history of sacrifices of Gandhi family, right from Motilal Nehru to Rahul. Whereas Rahul Gandhi, with his crave for clean, competent people, greater transparency and accountability in party affairs, his sense of care and identification with 'aam admi' and his novel concept of 'social transformation' , represents the youth of India.
Even in J & K also, with 'merit' and 'political talent' as the guiding parameters for nomination to district and state level posts, replacing decades-old system of references from senior leaders, Rahul Gandhi's innovative concept of Talent Search has been the greatest street hit over here, he said.
Pankaj Chibber, Ashish Kotwal, Shafiq, Amit Gandotra, Ajay Jamwal, Mandeep Singh, Shivang Satya Gupta, Ravi Kumar, Varinder Singh, Dheeraj Gupta, Bharat Priye, Shashi Bhushan, Manu Jamwal, Amit Bloeria and other Youth Congress leaders also addressed the meeting.
