| Jan pays surprise visit to District Hospital Poonch | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Poonch, Sept 20: MLA Poonch Aijaz Jan conducted a surprise visit to the District Hospital Poonch today morning and inspected the wards and the attendance of Doctors & staff on duty.
He also inspected the cleanliness of the Hospital and later enquired about the health of indoor patients bed to bed especially those injured during the protest against reportedly burning of Quran in Poonch.
Later in the day he called meeting of officers in Poonch. Directions were issued to TSO's in Poonch to personally visit each & every Depot of the Poonch & Mandi to check the availability of ration in wake of complaints regarding the non availability of Ration after 5 days Curfew in Poonch. XEN PHE & PDD were directed to maintain the supply of drinking water & Power in the constituency. Block Medical Officer Mandi Ghulam Malik was directed to ensure supply of medicines in all the health centre and to encourage mobile camps in coordination with Army for offering specialized treatment at the doorsteps. Block Develop-ment Officer Poonch Aijaz Qaiser was directed to provide employment to labourers under NREGA before the onset of harvesting season as the lean period could be equally utilized. He thanked the Chief Minister Jenab Omar Abdullah for being in the town after sensing the gravity of situation and attending public meeting as a confidence building masure among general masses.
He also thanked the people of Poonch & Mandi, civil society members & Ullemas for their role in diffusing tension and maintaining peace & harmony.
