| Govt violates own norms; appoints failed candidates as Naib Tehsildars | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Sept 20: It may sound incredible. But it is true. The government have reportedly appointed failed candidates as Naib Tehsildars, thus ignoring those who qualified Public Service Commission examination putting a question mark on the credibility of the administration.
Sources said that among the total 1154 candidates of the state who appeared in Naib Tehsildar examination in Public Service Commission last year, only 6 candidates qualified it. Those who qualified included Khursheed Ahmed of Rajouri, Farooq Anwar Mirza of Rajouri, Abdul Ghani of Poonch, Rafiq Ahmed of Udhampur, Saif-ud-Din Parry of Poonch and Ravinder Sharma of Sambha. All these candidates are serving as girdawars in their districts.
Sources said the result was declared in August 2009 but the state government has reportedly appointed Naib Tehsildar among those who had failed in the examination while all those who qualified it have been denied to promote as Naib Tehsildar. In Rajouri district, sources said that a candidate namely Parshotam Lal who has failed in 6 papers out of total 8 in PSC Naib Tehsildar examination has been appointed as Naib Tehsildar, Sunderbani while another Girdawar namely Nazar Mohammad Mir who has failed in one paper has been appointed as ARA in DC Office Rajouri. These Naib Tehsildars were appointed vide order number Estt/966-73 dated February 23, 2010.
Sources said that when there were candidates available with the authorities who had cleared all 8 papers, they have allegedly violated rules in the appointments.
Sources said that government had initiated process for appointment of all qualified candidates, their file 2256/Rev/NG-04/2010 dated 11-02-2010 was gathering dust in the revenue office in civil secretariat.
Sources said that this is a clear cut violation of rules where passed candidates had been ignored and failed one are posted appointed as Naib Tehsildars.
