EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 20: There is a brewing resentment among the Kashmiri Pandits against the role of the Government for reportedly ignoring the genuine representatives of the community in meeting the All Parties Delegation which is on three days visit of the state to ascertain views of all sections of the society in sorting out the present crisis in the state.
Taking a serious exception to Government’s reported move of ignoring the mainstream KP organizations in tomorrows all party meeting, the Kashmiri Pandit leaders have accused the NC led coalition Government of double standards.
Questioning the Government for not inviting the leaders of Panun Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Vichar Manch and Kashmir Samiti Delhi, Kashmiri Pandit Sangarsh Samiti and All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) in tomorrow’s meeting with All Parties Delegation , the KP leaders said this was a disrespect to the entire community.
It is shameful that five member team of All Parties Delegation visits residence of Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani who is for the merger of Kashmir with Pakistan but declines to meet with the leaders of Panun Kashmir and other mainstream KP organizations who have over last 20 years of turmoil struggled against the divisive forces and stand for total integration of J&K with India.
The Government has invited some NC puppets in the meeting and it is entirely a state managed show said APMCC chairman, Vinod Pandit. He said the KP organizations which were in struggle in Kashmir Valley and other parts of the country since their exile have been ignored by the State Government on the behest of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Pandit has appealed the leaders of ASKPC to boycott the meeting in view of the disrespect brought to the community by the Government. He also urged the leaders of the All Parties Delegation not to fall in the trap of the Government and take the genuine opinion of the community as the majority of KPs are for carving out of a separate homeland for seven lakh Kashmiri Pandits in Valley.
His views have been fully supported by convener KHC, P L Koul Badgami. He also appealed the leaders of ASKPC and other organizations to boycott tomorrow’s meet with All Parties Delegation if the genuine leaders of the community are not invited to ascertain their views. Badgami said the Pandits are the main victims of Islamic terrorism and by ignoring their aspirations is an indication that Government was never interested in the welfare of the community and had it been so the hapless Pandits would have not become refugees in their own country.
``HE SAID THE THERE IS TOTAL RESENTMENT AMONG THE COMMUNTIY ON THE DOUBLE STANDARDS OF NC LED COALTION IN THE STATE WHICH ON THE OTHER HAND IS CHAMPIONING THE CAUSE OF SEPARATISTS AND FACILITATING A DIALOGUE WITH PROTOGONISTS OF AZADI WITH UNION GOVERNEMTN AND ON THE OTHER HAND IGNORING THE ASPIRATIONS OF THE KASHMIRI PANDITS THE REAL SUFFERERS OF 21 YEAR LONG TURMOIL IN THE VALLEY.
BY INVITING SOME PUPPETS OF NC TO MEET THE ALL PARTIES DELEGATION THE GOVERNEMNT CAN’T IGNORE THE GENUINE ASPIRATIONS OF THE COMMUNITY WHO STAND FOR A SEPARATE HOMELAND. BADGAMI QUESTIONED THE RATIONALE OF THE STATE GOVERNEMNT IN IGNORING THE FRONT RANKING LEADERSHIP AND INTELLECTUALS OF THE COMMUNITY IN THE MEETING. HE WARNED THE NC LEADERSHIP TO REFRAIN FROM ADOTPING THE DOUBLE STANDARDS AS THE PARTY HAS ALREADY BEEN EXPOSED AMONG THE MASSES.
The KP organizations are under constant pressure from the community to boycott tomorrow’s meeting in view of disrespect brought to the community by the Government.
The ADKAF leader Bal Ji Hazari and AMCCC president Desh Rattan have also expressed their grave concern over the Government’s attitude towards the community and accused it of ignoring the genuine aspirations of the Pandits.
