| Bhalla commission’s tube well at Gandhi Nagar | | ICU, Blood Bank, Eye Unit come up at Gandhi Nagar Hospital | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | OCT 27 The former minister and sitting Congress MLA Raman Bhalla today commissioned a tube well at Last Morh Gandhi Nagar here today. The tube well completed at a cost of Rs.60 lakh would provide additional 15,000 gallons of water per hour. With the consuming of this tube well the water scarcity in Gandhi Nagar would be eased to large extent. Addressing the function, Bhalla said, that 25 tube wells have been taken up in hand at different places including Gandhi Nagar, Sunjwan, Bhathindi, Sainik Colony and Channi Rama. He said a filtration plant would be shortly installed at Gorkh Nagar, which would provide 18 lakhs of portable water. Bhalla said that various other schemes relating to sanitation, augmentation of drinking water, improvement in lanes and drains is on the anvil. Reffering tot eh various demands put forth by the people of Gandhi Nagar constituency, Bhalla said that most of the demands have been fulfilled. He said a separate Opthalmology unit, blood bank; ICU a nursing home is being established within the Gandhi Nagar hospital complex at an estimate cost of about Rs. 12 crores. Among others present on the occasion were corporataor Bansi Lal Gupta, Tilak Raj Gupta, Jai Singh Thakur, Kulbhushan Sharma, Satish Sharma and Sr. Officers of PHE Deptt.
