‘Release wages of labourers’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Sept 21 : The Kissan Movement condemned the administration for harassing the innocent labourers of the village Bhagwal of block Burnoti by not paying their wages of one month for the last six months. Addressing the meeting, the district convener Hurmat Singh expressed concern over the apathetic attitude adopted by the administration towards the villagers of the village Bhagwal who worked for the clearance of distributory of the Ujh Canals seven months before. He said that despite many attempts by the villagers to get their wages who worked as per MNERGA scheme but no officials were deliberately delaying the payment. The other leaders of the Movement said that the MNERGA scheme was launched by the central government to provide the minimum 100 days employment opportunity to the villagers but the schemes are now floating due to the negligence of the administration. The Kisaan Movement urged the district administration to release the pending wages of one month as per MNERGA of the villagers of Bhagwal immediately. Among others present in the meeting included Daya Ram Sharma, Rajinder Singh, Ashwani, Sat Paul Saini and Karan Singh.
