Panun flays govt for not inviting in all party meet
9/21/2010 10:11:49 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU,Sept 21: A meeting of the political affairs committee of Panun Kashmir was held today which was presided over by Dr Agnishekhar, the convener of Panun Kashmir.
The members expressed surprise over the blatant discriminatory attitude by the Central and State governments towards the Kashmiri Pandit community, which once again became vividly evident to every one, by not inviting the front line premier organization of the Kashmiri Pandits, the Panun Kashmir for talks, with the All Party Parliamentary delegation , currently on its special visit to the state.
Taking strong exception to government move, Dr Agnishekhar termed it as a brazen negation of and disrespect to the seven lac ethnic Kashmiri Pandit community members. He reiterated that the Kashmiri Pandit community are the worst victims and sufferers of Pan- Islamic terrorism and religious fanaticism, as the entire community with a history of over 5000 years of their belonging to and being the indigenous inhabitants of Kashmir , were hounded out of their hearths and homes by Islamist zealots and armed Jehadis in 1989-90.
Lambasting the chicanery tactics played by the government, Dr. Agnishekhar said that as usual, the government has buckled under the pressure of the separatists, anti Indian forces and propounders of autonomy and self rule etc; as these elements feared exposure at the hands of Panun Kashmir, of their implicit involvement in and abetment to violence in Kashmir, albeit another face of Jehad of pelting stones on security forces and triggering vicious circle of violence , arson and loss of lives.
Dr. Agnishekhar further said that creation of a separate Homeland with full and complete writ of Indian government, Indian constitution and Indian values in Kashmir, for the exiled Kashmiri Pandits, has attained universal acceptability as the only solution to our exodus, genocide and perpetual religious apartheid. He warned the Central and the state governments not to test the patience of the community any more and not subject their steadfast patriotism and peace loving nature to neglect, discrimination, denial and humiliation as that would boomerang into grave repercussions, the entire onus of which shall lie on the government.
