KPs celebrate Vitasta triyodeshi

JAMMU, Sept 21: The Kashmiri Pandit community today took part in vitasta triyo deshi celebrations organised by Kashmira Vahini on the banks of Chanderbaga at Rajinder Park. The programme was biggest in nature in Kashmiri Pandit community across the globe in exile.Participation of saints ,singers,musicians,theatre personalities,intellectuals and large number of Kashmiri pandit woman was hallmark of the function.
The programme began with deep prajevalan by Kashmiri pandit saints Kumar jee, Pran nath Bhat Garib, Jyotshi Man Mohan Shastri and Dada Jee and they threw light on religo-cultural importance of river vitasta. Child Prodigy Sheen recited shalokas from neelmat puran in praise of river goddess vitasta.
Dr.Agnishekhar, convener, Panun Kashmir laid emphasis on importance of celebrating festivals like vitasta triyodeshi to remain connected to the roots and inculcates the resolve of people in exile to return to cherished goal of homeland.
Dr Agnishekhar condemned the state and central government attitude, their apathy, neglect, insult of Kashmiri Pandits by not inviting main stream political party Panun Kashmir of Kashmiri Pandits in All Party Deligation Meet.
Kalyani Kaul, vice President, Oracle Financial Services addressed the gathering and impressed upon the Kashmiri Pandit woman to strive hard to preserve and promote kashmiri hindu culture.
Eminent artists like Kailash Mehra, Dilip Langoo, Deepali Wattal, Ram Krishen Kitchloo and Tej Krishen performed on the birthday of River Goddess Vitasta. Musical tribute in the form of “Vitasta Dhun” specially composed by renowned music director Kuldeep Saproo and sung by Ms Deepali Wattal was also be played on this day.
Album of Kashmiri songs composed and sung by Dileep Langoo was also released on the eve of Vitasta Day.
Special theatrical performance by Vomeed group of Rohit Bhat featured as one of highlights of the programme.
Vijaya Khoda, a prominent activist of Kashmira vahini was felicitated on the occasion. The programme was graced by eminent poets Prem Nath Shad and Mohan Lal Aash. The programme concluded with Vitasta Pujan and “Deep Visarjan”.
The programme was conducted by Dr.Khema Kaul, National Spokesperson Kashmira Vahini and vote of thanks presented by Sudesha Kaul, chief area co-ordinator Kashmira Vahini.
