DDC holds public darbars at Chenani

UDHAMPUR, Sept 21: To take stock of multifaceted problems and demands of the people, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Udhampur Baseer Ahmed Khan accompanied by district heads of various departments held public darbars at tehsil head quarter Chenani of district Udhampur today.
Demands and problems put forth by public in open public darbar included establishment of potato farm, vegetable mandi, collection of vegetable at Gourikund, Tomater morh etc, allotment of venues to the vegetable sellers of Chenani area at Udhampur and Narwal mandi, awareness camps for rural masses of centrally and state sponsored schemes, assessment of damaged houses due to heavy rains, monitoring of SSA buildings, compensation of PMGSY roads and preventive measures for monkey problem.
After listening the problems and demands of the people, DDC directed the officers concerned to mitigate the sufferings of the people on priority and asked them to initiate action and their solution under intimation to him. He also asked the people to keep him abreast whether their grievances have been redressed by the department concerned with the specified time frame, adding that he would review the progress in next public durbar.
DDC directed the Tehsildar and other concerned officers of various departments to display all ongoing schemes with cost and expenditure on the board at panchayat, block and tehsil level for the information of general public. The Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Sheep Husbandry, Social Welfare, Animal Husbandry, Banks, Rural development etc shall arrange three awareness camps at tehsil level during every month.
Later Khan during a meeting with the prominent people of Chenani area stressed for maintaining of communal harmony and mutual brotherhood. He said that some mischievous elements always remain in a try to disturb the peace and brotherhood and directed to beware from such elements. He exhorted upon the people to maintain peace and communal harmony in their respective areas for the over all prosperity of the region.
