| SCHOLARSHIP TO MIGRANT STUDENTS from IGNOU | | | JAMMU, July 27,2006.
Regional Director, Indira Gandhi National Open University(IGNOU),Regional Centre, Jammu, Sh.G.H.Imrapur has announced to grant a scholarship of Rs.5 lakh for education of Kashmiri Migrant students. This scholarship will be given to deserving children of poor Kashmiri Migrants under the guidance of a social worker Sh.Rakesh Kaul and Sh.Rohit from Development Centre For Alternative Policies, New Delhi.
Sh.Imrapur has decided to give this scholarship of Rs.5 lakh in memory of his beloved father, Late Sh.H.G.Imrapur, who was a great freedom fighter. Sh.Imrapur has already been working for such noble cause in Banglore, Mumbai, Gujrat and other parts of the country. Sh.Imrapur said that those migrant Kashmiri Pandit children who are studying from primary to higher education and whose parents are poor will be given scholarships for pursuing their education.
He has been playing a pioneer’s role in making the people educationally rich and bringing up economically the downtrodden and other below poverty line people by making them educationally forward. He has rendered his valuable services in uplifting the poor and downtrodden people in distress for the last 18 years and because of his dedicated services to the people, various National and International Bodies and Universities have awarded him with Certificate of Merit /Excellence.
Sh.Imrapur has been awarded one International, Four National Awards, one Steel Level Gurukul Award including Environment and Human Rights International Millennium Award sponsored by the UNICEF, UNICED, UNESCO and IIHR. Four National Awards awarded to IGNOU Regional Director, Sh.Imrapur are India 2000 Human Rights Protection Award, Pride For India Award, Bharat Vikas Award and Mother Teressa Award. |
