Christians submit memorandum to All Party Delegation

Jammu,, Sept 22: The J&K joint churches fellowship submitted a memorandum to the All Party Delegation here today. As per press release members apprised the members delegation about the problems Christians of J&K are facing though in minority are always been neglected by the government all the times and have been deprived of the facilities which are being granted to other communities living in the state. They said Christian has no representation in legislature and such no body project the problems of the community. They further said as in part and now also Christian are made target un-necessarly, it sentiments of Muslim brethren are hurt by anyone in any part of the world. In 1967 due to the conflict of Arabs and Israel Churches in Srinagar were burnt and also good stock of Holy Bibles were destroyed burnt. In similar manner this time also when reportedly it was aired that some pages of holy Quran were burnt elsewhere in U.S.A, the Muslim miscreants targeted Christians in the state and the Christian properties; school etc. like one school at tangmarg and one school at Pulwama burnt down and churches were also attacked but the police took immediate action and the mob-failed to damage the churches, we apprise the delegation that our community has been involved in humanitarian acts by providing the facility of education to poor children in our state. We have also been providing medical facility in our missionary hospitals etc. in Jammu and Kashmir. It present condition and circumstances the people of Christian community are scared where ever they are to so much that we could not send out children out doors and not even to the schools because of fear and demanded that necessary arrangements be provided that the feelings of our community are addressed to, adequately, and necessary steps be taken for the future. Members who signed the memorandum were Shoket Peter, Bishop N.M Nisar, Sohan Lal, SM Gill and Issaca Bhatti.
