| RR constructs water storage tank at Langdhar village | | | early times report
Jammu, Sept 22: Army has once again extended a goodwill gesture to the people of Village Langdhar, a remote village located in Marmat Area of Doda District by constructing a water storage tank.
The villagers were facing acute shortage of water supply and had to be fetched manually from a mountain spring about 2 km from the village.
On receiving a request from the locals as part of its drive to help the villagers in remote areas, the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of HQ 4 Sect RR and CIF (Delta) took the initiative to provide this much required basic civic amenity by construction of a water storage tank under 'Operation Sadhbhavna.
The project now transports water from the spring to the water tank inside the village and provides the villagers with round the clock water supply within the village itself. The villagers have expressed their deep gratitude to the Army authorities. The Commanding Officer of the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, while inaugurating the project, conveyed his appreciation to Ghulam Nabi, Sarpanch and. Farooq Ahmed, Lamberdar and locals of Langdhar for contributing in bringing back normalcy to Doda. |
