To diffuse henceforth communal tension police hold meet | | | early times report Jammu, Sept 22: In order to diffuse the henceforth communal tension which likely to come after Allahabad High Court's verdict Sep 24 over Babri Masjid police is holding meetings with the senior citizens of the different areas. A meeting with the senior citizens of the different religions was held at Digiana by police officers in which appeal was made to the people to maintain communal harmony. The meeting was chaired by SDPO Gandhi Nagar Mohan Lal Kaith, and ICPP Digiana Ajit Singh. People of Jammu, RS Pura, Akhnoor and Samba who were invited by police for meet pledged that they would maintain communal harmony. SDPO Mohan Lal Kaith while addressing meet said that we should adopt verdict what might come with open heart and expressed satisfaction over the old age communal harmony maintained by the people of the state. Pertinent to mention here that eighteen years after the demolition of the Babri Masjid by Hindu radicals, who believed that it was built on the site of the birth place of Lord Ram, the security blanket and meetings are on rampant in the entire state. |
