Taj inspects work on artificial lake at Tawi | | | EARLY TIMES report JAMMU, Sept 22: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today inspected the construction work on auto mechanically operated gated Barrage in Nikki Tawi and Waddi Tawi for creation of prestigious project of artificial Lake building which would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 110 crore. The lake to be created has an approximate length of 1450 m and 600 m width. Taking stock of the pace of work on the project, the Minister exhorted upon the officers to work with utmost efficiency and dedication to ensure timely and quality completion of the venture. He said that, as instructed by the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, the Ministers are personally monitoring all the development projects being executed in the State to ensure effective implementation of the same. The Minister also inspected the ongoing construction work on Earthen Embankment to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 14.66 crore. The purpose of the construction work of Embankment is to ensure protection of the upcoming Golf Course. Taj also visited the Sitlee Filtration Plant and inspected the ongoing work of disilting. He asked the PHE officers to further speed up the pace of progress on various works being done in the plant. Among others Principal Secretary PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control A. K. C. Nanda, XEN Irrigation S. R. Shukla, Vice President Projects GVR Infra Company K. T. Rao and senior officers from PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control accompanied the Minister. |
