| HC issues notice to JK, Union of India | | | EARLY TIMES report
Jammu, Sept 22: A petition seeking action against NDTV's CEO and others has been filed in Jammu wing of the state high court for "harming unity and integrity of the country" and "spreading hatred against the government established by law" .Justice Sunil Hali while taking cognizance of the petition issued notice to Jammu Kashmir state and the Union government in the first instance returnable within two weeks. The petition shall be listed after their service is complete.
The petitioners Rajiv Chuni and Prem Choudhary sought registration of a case against Pranay Roy, CEO NDTV and others u/s 124-A RPC on the ground that on September 15, 2010 at 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM , a Program "BUCK STOPs HERE" was telecasted and same was against the integrity and Unity of the country and it tried to bring hatred against the Govt established by law in the state of J&K. The programme was anchored by Barkha Dutt.
