Mankotia expresses disgust over snail's pace of developmental works | | | EARLY TIMES report Jammu, Sept 22: MLA, Balwant Singh Mankotia today inspected the pace of on going development works in Udhampur town including the construction work on slaughter house near Birma pool, Community Hall near Military Hospital Udhampur & Subash Stadium W. No -1. He expressed deep concern over the delayed of construction work on Community Halland informed that Rs. 1.9 crore were sanctioned under IDSMT scheme in 2002 but due to the negligence of department only 56 lacs could be spent & rest amount got elapsed. Mankotia said Rs. 24 lacs has been released out of District Plan & rest amount will also released at the earliest for the completion of Community Hall. Rs. 30 Lacs has been spent for the construction of Slaughter house under NSPP/ IDSMT scheme he added. Mankoita further directed the Executive Officer Municipal Council, Udhampur for shifting of slaughter house with in one week's time so that long pending demand of the people of Udhampur town could be fulfilled. He also visited Subash Stadium Udhampur & directed Xen R&B Division, Udhampur for early start of work of Subash Stadium for which Rs. 1.23 Lacs are released after the approval of District Development Board Meeting held in ending 2009. He further said that Rs. 8.50 Crore will be spent on the up-gradation of stadium. Meanwhile Mankoita condemned the lathi charge on POK refugees who were on the way to meet the delegation independently but were forced to meet through Ministers for which they refused & the police had to resort to lathi charge & put them in the Jail. Mankoita further added that the delegation visiting the state has encouraged the antinational forces & discouraged nationalist forces.
