PPRF seeks hill development status | | | early times report JAMMU, Sept 22: Pressing its demand for hill development status, Pir Panchal Regional Forum (PPRF) has said that the area has been ignored on all fronts. In a statement issued here today, PPRF has said that the area of Rajouri Poonch and Mahore is lagging behind from all other areas of the state which needs urgent attention from government side. In the meeting which was held here under the chairmanship of its President Liaqat Chowdhary, it was decided to launch a campaign for inviting the attention of the Govt towards the Pir Panchal Range. Speaking on the occasion, Tazeem Dar, general secretary of the PPRF that the Govt should compare the data of the Pir Panchal Region with other part of the state which will speak itself about the facilities being provided to us in regard of education, environmental, health , sports and other fields. Shahbaz Khan, Vice President of the PPRF said that the people of the area had suffered a major loss of lives and property during 1947, 1965, 1971` Indo Pak wars and are also suffering badly due to the 21 years of turmoil in the State. Meanwhile, Khurshid Tantray, senior vice president of the PPRF said that granting Hill council Status to the region will address the problems of the area and sense of alienation shall not be felt by the people of Pir Panchal region. Earlier, PPRF was framed with a mission to launch a crusade for Hill status to the area. Liaqat Chowdhary unanimously elected President of the PPRF while Khurdshid Tantray Senior vice President,Shahbaz Khan Vice President, Tazeem Dar Genral secretry and Vijay Kochar, chief spokesperson of the PPRF. |
