Saroori loyalists, PDP, Imam Jamia boycott CM public meet at Kishtwar
9/22/2010 11:17:58 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
KISHTWAR, Sept 22: It seems as the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah still feels the pain and agony of July 11episode at Kishtwar, when the National Conference workers at Kishtwar burns the effigy of Omar Abdullah, flags of National Conference and its posters in response to the denial of Cabinet birth to MLA Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo. The matter once again came to the forefront, when Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during his visit to Kishtwar refuse to take good will gesture from the National Conference workers who were waiting in a long queues since long for receiving the visiting Chief Minister, which is his only 2nd visit during his over one year and eight months tenure as a Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. As soon as Omar Abdullah arrives at Tourist Reception Center Kishtwar, the NC workers who were waiting all through the day to receive him, get a dejected response from Omar Abdullah who refuse to acknowledge them and instead of waving towards them moved forward and only shook hands with Ex MLA Inderwal Qazi Jallal Din.
Omar Abdullah during his two and half hour stay at Kishtwar reflects his compulsion only to show to the central government that he had followed up the instruction from the higher ups of Congress to shorten the deficit in governance by meeting with the general public. The meeting which is more cosmetic rather then the constructive one, is looked like to be a managed stage with the involvements of District administration as well as by the party leaders. Among the various delegations who meet the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at Kishtwar, most of them were represented by the NC leaders in one or the other capacity. Meanwhile the loyalist of the Ex R & B Minister Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, PDP and Immam Jamia Masjid boycottd Chief Minister's public meeting. Chief Minister who was accompanied by his political advisor Davinder Singh Rana also held a similar meeting at Doda.and communal harmony in the state. He preferred to stay away from the local media, both in Kishtwar as well as in Doda, despite the district Administrations of Doda and Kishtwar has sent its invitation to all the leading media personalities of the area.
