| Ganesh Mahotsava concludes with Murti Visarjan | | | early times report
Jammu, Sept 22: Ganesh Mahotsava was organized under auspicious of Bharatiya Vedic Sansthan Jammu from 11th to 22nd September 2010 at Parade Ground Jammu.
The festivities and rituals began on the first day when the majestic idol of Lord Ganesh was installed there and it was inaugurated by Minister for Revenue and Relief Raman Bhalla.
The closing ceremony was performed on 21st September in which Ch. Lal Singh Member Parliament was the Chief Guest while Jugal Kishore former Minister, Y.V Sharma President CCI, Ramsarup Gupta, Deepak Aggarwal, Dewan Bansal (Industrialist), Pawan Shastri President Jammu Yatri Bhawan, Sohail Kazmi, Ravinder Singh, M.K Bangroo, Satish Gupta, Lal Singh were the Guest of Honour.
They lauded the efforts of Bhartiya Vedic Sansthan and expressed their views about the Ganesh Mahotsava that was attended by lakhs of people.
A number of citizens representing various walks of life also participated on the culmination celebrations of the programme.
The rituals of Puran Auhuti were performed in the morning hours on 22nd September, 2010 in which a large number of devotees took part.
While this majestic procession reached various Bazaars the representatives of the business committee welcomed the Shoba Yatra and also performed Pooja. They distributed fruits, sweets and other eatables.
The people belonging to various political non- political and social organizations participated in this Shoba Yatra and also performed Pooja at the scared occasion of Visarjan at the bank of river Chenab.
The idol of Lord Ganesh shall be taken to river Chenab on Wednesday in the morning hours.
The procession shall pass from parade to Shalamar City Chowk, Kanak Mandi, Rajinder Bazar, Residency Road, Raghunath Bazar, Indira Chowk, Jewel and Canal Road Jammu.
There after it shall proceed to river Chcnab for immersion.
The Chairman and of the Bhartiya Vedic Sansthan Acharya Sanjay Shastri presented a vote of thanks.
The main organizers of this event include Jitendra Gupta, Bharat Bhushan Sharma all Members of the Vedic Sansthan who rendered their services.
