| Burglars steal ornaments from Santoshi Mata temple | | | RAJOURI: Burglars broke into the temple of goddess Santoshi Mata here early this morning and decamped with gold jewelley worth Rs 70,000.
Police sources said the burglary was first detected by a devotee who went to the temple situated in the Nagesh bridge area to offer morning prayers.
After he informed them, police rushed to the spot and found that the gold ornaments of the goddess were missing, the sources added.
The estimated cost of the jewellery was put at over Rs 70,000.
Though police had registered a case in this connection, the accused were yet to be apprehended.
This is second burglary in the town in the past few days. Earlier, jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh was stolen from the house of Mubina Kousar in ward No 2 here. |
