| RR conducts Driving Training Cadre | | | EARLY TIMES report
Reasi, Sept 23: Driving Training Cadre for the local youth was conducted by Rasthriya Rifles Battalion at Bagga (Mahore) in District Reasi from Sep 3 to Sep 23 under the aegis of Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform), in order to provide basic vocational training for furthering career prospects of youth under Operation Sadbhavana. Twenty youth were selected from the villages of Gulabgarh, Lar, Dandihala, Badar, Dewal, Bharansal and Bagga. The youth showed immense enthusiasm in learning and acquiring driving skills. The locals of the area were very appreciative of this gesture which, in turn, will go a long way in strengthening the bond between the "AWAM" and security forces. To wean away the youth from terrorism and provide them vocational skills which would help them in integrating with the mainstrem it was felt necessary that they be introduced to skills like driving, carpentry, tailoring etc. The training was imparted at Talwara, so that they may first get acquainted with driving in plains before progressing to hill driving. A team of highly qualified instructors imparted driving training to selected youth. Driving licenses were provided to the youth after termination of the cadre, to ensure future employability of these participants. This cadre will help the youth from remote regions of Mahore Tehsil to explore employment opportunities and gain self confidence, and also get integrated into the -national mainstream.
