CM dismayed over working of DC Doda | | | Early Times Report DODA, Sept 23: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was dismayed over the working of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda. This was stated by locals of Doda in a handout issued here today. They said that on the visit of Chief Minster at Doda, different delegations from all parties put forth their demands while speaking to him. They said that locals complained against District Administration for having resorted to discriminatory anti-encroachment drive in Doda town only. In the handout, it has been said that before the arrival of Chief Minister at Doda, large number of women, children and shopkeepers gathered in the house of MLC and District President National conference Khalid Najib Shuarawardy. They were protesting against demolition of their houses. Shopkeepers also raised hue and cry for demolition of shops to render the youth jobless. Shuarawardy assured the protesters that their miseries will be brought to the special notice of Chief Minister. The delegation of National Conference District Doda strongly resented the attitude of District administration. They alleged that District Development Commissioner (DDC) was taking up selective cases of demolition against the political workers of a particular political party. Chief Minister gave patient hearing to the above while receiving a memorandum in writing as well for taking action from his good offices. Meanwhile, protesting expressed satisfaction and thanks to Suharawardy for pleading their grievance before Chief Minister. They further stressed that follow up action should be pressed till order of reshuffle of District administration is issued.
