Hindi fortnight celebrations conclude

Jammu, Sept 23: The Hindi fortnight celebration, organized by the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sanstha' a deemed University at Ranbir Campus, Kot-Bhalwal here today. Ex. Chief Secretary, Dr. Sudhir Singh Bloeria who was chief guest said that we all need to ponder over the questions such as, why don't we have that standard of Hindi poets which was there in the first half of the last century, why don't we have a national poet in India. Describing government aid as crutches, he said that a firmly established language does not need crutches to stand tall. He exhorted the students to contribute in promoting and propagating Sanskrit, Indian culture and Hindi. In his address, Dr. Vidya Nath Gupta said that having one language was considered to be one of the main unifying forces of a nation and in case of multi-lingual India. It was of paramount interest to have one national language. Among the modern Indian languages, only Hindi had the potential of occupying that position.
He said that even in the Mughal period, there was no opposition to Hindi. In fact, it was in that period that Hindi achieved the pinnacle of literary excellence. Many renowned sufi poets wrote in Hindi. There were many who came to India from other regions learned Hindi language and went on to become celebrated names in the history of India literature. Hindi eve flourished in royal courts of the times. To prove his point, he mentioned the names of Raskhan, Rahim etc and said that even Aurangzeb used to write Hindi poetry. He aid that in modern India, Hindi would have to forge its own path to the top. In his presidential address Principal Porf. Vishwa Murti Shastri appreciated the efforts being made by the government of India to promote the use of Hindi in Government offices and highlighted the significance of Hindi language. He informed the audience that an officer of HRD Ministry had told him that in the campuses of the Sansthan all over the country, 80% of the work was found to be done in Hindi. Describing Hindi as a strong means of communication, he said that Hindi strengthens bonds of national integration. Emphasizing the need for using Hindi in our daily lives, he exhorted the audience to feel proud of Hindi Language and do more work in Hindi language. Earlier, Mangalacharan was presented by Rakesh, Sushant, Pankaj, Shambhu Ram, Shiv Kumar and Purushottam. Special Hindi talent awards were presented.
