CCI applauds CBDT | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 23: Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) has expressed deep gratitude to Central Board of Direct Taxes for accepting their demand for extending date for filing of annual income tax returns along with audit reports under section 44 AB of income tax act. This was stated in a handout issued here today. In an emergency meeting held under the Chairmanship of President Chamber of Commerce & Industry Y.V. Sharma, office bearers and senior members expressed deep gratitude and thanks to the Central Board of Direct Taxes for accepting their demand. Secretary General Satish Gupta informed that central board of direct taxes has extended date for filing of income tax returns and audit reports from September 30, 2010 to November 30, 2010.
He said that the decision has been taken in the wake of continuous hartals and curfews in Kashmir Valley due to which traders of Jammu are not in a position to deposit their taxes. Meeting also expressed its appreciation and thanks to Chief Commissioner of Income Tax G.R. Sofi and Commissioner Income Tax Jammu for favourably recommending and pleading the case before the Central Board of Direct taxes. |
