Govt Gandhi Nagar hospital organises (BMD) camp | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Sept 23: In continuation to the BMD Camps organized every month at Government Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu again a Bone Mass Density (BMD) Camp was organized through the Orthopaedics Department Government Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu in Physiotherapy Hall of the OPD Block. It was a free camp where about 120 clients were screened by BMD Machine and further advised by Sr Orthopedicians Dr Kamaljeet Singh, Dr Rakesh Sharma of Gandhinagar Hospital Jammu. The camp would be held for two days i.e on 23Rd & 24Th September 2010 w.e.f 9 A.M to 1 P.M. Today on the first day about 120 clients were entertained and tomorrow again registration and examination of clients would be done w.e.f 9 A.M. to 10 A.M in Orthopaedics OPD. The computerized machine has been brought from Delhi and by placing the thumb on the machine whole body scan is done and a computerized report is generated. The BMD camp is held every month at Government Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu. Dr Subash Bhagat Medical Superintendent, Dr Arun Sharma Dy. Medical Superintendent and other senior doctors were present on the occasion. A Bone Mineral Density (BMD) test measures how much calcium and other types of minerals are present in a section of our bone. The health care provider uses this test, along with other risk factors, to predict the risk of bone fractures in the future. Bone fracture risk is highest in people with osteoporosis. |
