SCOA hails extending of date of I-T retur for filingn | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 24: Stone Crushers Owners Association, Jammu province welcomed the decision of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) for extending the due date of filing of returns of income tax for the assessment year 2010-11 for all categories of cases in the state of Jammu & Kashmir to November 30. It is pertinent to mention that the decision was taken by the CBDT in exercise of powers conferred under section 119 of the Income Tax Act, 1961, considering the reports of disturbance of general life, caused due to the law and order problem in the State. In a press statement issued here today, SCOA president Vikram Randhawa said, “We welcomed the decision of CBDT taken considering the reports of disturbance of general life, caused due to the law and order problem in the state”. He mentioned that due to Kashmir violence from last three month has crippled the economy of the state and not only the traders and business community of Valley suffered the traders and business community of Jammu too suffered a lot. Randhawa said this decision will give some respite to traders and business community in filing returns of tax. Randhawa also hailed the efforts of Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Retailers Association for taking up this matter with the concerning authority in reaction CBDT extended date of filing returns of income tax for the assessment year 2010-11.
