Two day seminar-cum-workshop concludes | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 24: To commemorate the National Social Service (NSS) foundation day, two day workshop on “Role of youth in peace making” organized by NSS units of Government Gandhi Memorial Science College concluded today. On the concluding day today, eminent social worker and speaker S.S. Bijral spoke at length on the role of youth in peace making at a time when our state particularly Kashmir valley is in turmoil for last several months. He placed humanism above all and stressed that primary education sector should be strengthened to overcome the youth unrest. He said that we should work with limited resources which we have. He highlighted educated, unskilled and unemployed youth are frustrated lot in the present scenario. He said that success is the progressive realization of goals where youth can become an asset and not a liability on the nation. Youth being pillars of a nation can contribute a lot, added Bijral. Principal of the college Prof. M.S.Baloria appreciated the views of resource person and the organizers of workshop. He stressed upon the volunteers to follow the suggestions floated by resource person and come up to the expectations of the society by contribution towards bringing peace to themselves which will lead to a peaceful society. The programme was organized under the guidance of Prof. Rajinder Sharma, Prof. Ram Singh and Prof. Vijay Kumar Chandan. Senior Volunteers Mohammed Arif, Sumit Dogra, Ankush Verma and Parveen Sharma led the volunteers.
