JMC launches anti-encroachment drive | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 24: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today undertook an extensive anti-encroachment drive in the areas of Bikram Chowk, Nai Basti and Satwari. In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that under instructions from Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) S.C. Sawhney to clear the footpaths, pavements from the encroachments, Enforcement Field Staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer (CEO) Ravi Sharma undertook an extensive anti-encroachment drive in the areas of Bikram Chowk, Nai Basti, Satwari. During the drive, two truck loads of goods like tubs, weighing scales, juice machines, umbrellas, bicycles, trunks, drums, containers, stools, plastic goods, mattresses, seat cushions, chairs were seized from the footpaths and pavements. Besides this, acting on the complaint of neighbourers, two ramps raised on part of lane at Digiana were also demolished. Municipal Commissioner once again appeals to the shopkeepers to keep their goods within their shops/ establishments to avoid seizure of these goods and penalty for such defaults. The Rehari owners have also been asked to keep their reharies mobile as the stationary reharies are source of obstruction for the free flow of vehicular traffic and -also cause inconvenience to the pedestrians.
