Bhalla asks officers to complete works well before Navratras at Bahu Fort

JAMMU, Sept 24: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla has said that coalition Government is committed to develop all the peripheral areas of the State at par with urban pockets by providing all basic amenities like drinking water, electricity, healthcare, road connectivity besides drainage system.
The Minister said this while laying foundation of various development works at Shahabad Gujjar Basti and Kalika Colony in Bahu Fort, to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 19 lakh.
Mr. Bhalla asked the executing agencies to complete the ongoing construction works in the Bahu Fort area well before the upcoming Navratras so that the pilgrims do not face any inconvenience. He asked the concerned PHE and PDD authorities to provide adequate drinking water facilities and uninterrupted power supply in the area of the Shri Mahakali Temple in Bahu Fort. He asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation to depute a team of safakarmcharies for proper sanitation of the surrounding areas of the temple.
The Minister also inspected the ongoing work of tiles in the premises of the Shri Mahakali temple, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 12 lakh. He asked the Jammu Development Authority to complete the work within stipulated time frame.
The Minister informed that a proposal for opening of administrative units in remote and far-off areas is under active consideration adding that for this purpose Government has constituted a 5-member team for assessing the hardships of the people. He said that Government is also planning to establish Niabats in far-off areas of the State so that the revenue related issues of the locals could be mitigated at their doorsteps. Regarding early settlement of land acquisition cases of national highway widening and other road projects, he said that instructions were issued to concerned officers to prepare a list of their respective areas and submit to the higher authorities for funds so that the execution works of various road projects could be completed within prescribed time frame.
Mr. Bhalla called upon the people to extend their cooperation in the implementation of developmental schemes as their participation was imperative for effective and need based development. He asked the officers to personally monitor the quality of works and sought the cooperation of the people in ensuring the completion of the ongoing development projects within stipulated time frame.
