| Lal Singh convenes open darbar at Basohli | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Sept 24: Member Parliament Udhampur-Doda constituency Ch. Lal Singh convened a Public Darbar at PWD rest house Basohli in order to listen to the problems of the people.
The people of the area projected various demands and problems pertaining to adequate supply of drinking water, payment under MGNREGA, compensation of damaged houses due to heavy rains, repair of hand pumps etc.
The people of the area demanded that due to heavy rains some houses have been damaged and sought compensation. The MP directed the Tehsildar to prepare the list of damaged houses so that compensation can be paid to them.
The people complained that a teacher at primary school Khaarna is not attending his duties regularly for which the MP directed Chief Education Officer to look into the matter. The people of Thed, Kalyadi, Palai, Mahanpur and Marha demanded the repair of hand pumps . The people of village Thangar demanded that Thangar to Haripur tractor road may be brought under PWD for its repair and renovation.. The MP listened to the problems of the people patiently and assured the people for the early redressal of their problems . Speaking on the occasion the MP said that he is committed for the development of the area. He said that center government is providing adequate funds for the development of the state. He asked the people to remain united and maintain communal harmony and brotherhood and be aware of the nefarious designs of the anti national elements.
He said that in some cases MGNREGA works quality has not been maintained for which an inquiry will be conducted.
Xen PWD Basohli, Tehsil level officers and large number of people were present on the occasion.
