Aaykar Vibhag celebrates ‘Hindi Week’ | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 24: To commemorate the event of adopting Hindi as official language of independent India by the constituent assembly on 14 Sept. 1949 the Aayakar Vibhag, Jammu and Kashmir organized a week long programme from September 14 to 21 to celebrate the event. The programme started with Hindi Day Celebration inaugurated by commissioner Income, Tax, Ravi Sharma of J&K, and Jammu with lightening of the lamp. The Capt. Purshottam Sharma, president of Ved Mandir Soceity, Amphfala presented Saraswati Vandana and Rashtriya Geet- Vande Matram. Sarangal, felicitated all the officials of the department for the good job being done by them in promoting the national language of the union, Additional commissioner of income tax T.P Singh also participated in the function while Rakesh Kumar, Deputy commissioner of Income Tax appealed all the officials to use Hindi as Official language in their day-to-day work in office without hesitation. During the week many competitions were organized and on September 23, participants were awarded by the commissioner in a prize distribution ceremony.
