| PCC leader apprised of PDD employee's problem | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 25: Hari Singh,vice president PCC, visited the dharna of Daily Wagers Union of Power Development Department and listened to their demands in Jammu here today. The PDD Daily Wagers Union is sitting on Dharna for the last many days for their long pending demands. They submitted a memorandum to PCC leader and apprised him about their grievances.
They demanded that all the daily wagers who have completed seven years service should be regularized.
The daily wagers who lost their lives or become handicapped while on duty due to electric shocks as well as other accidents caused to them should be compensated at par with the regular employees of the department. They are not getting their wages regularly and their families and children are facing great hardships on this score, he was further apprised.
There is acute shortage of field staff and the daily wagers are over-burdened with work load without getting wages for the work they do. They further said that the State Govt. instead of mitigating their grievances is using force to curb the daily wagers.
Hari Singh gave patient hearing to the daily wagers and assured them that their genuine demands will be taken up with the concerned authorities and grievances would be addressed amicably. |
