PDD daily wager's protest enters 3rd day | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 25: The protest demonstration held by daily wagers under the banner of All Jammu and Kashmir PDD Daily Wagers Union entered Third day on Saturday. The protest was held under leadership of Provincial President, Kulbeer Singh. In the protest demonstration, the union leaders raised slogans against the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for non fulfillment of his promise made with the union leaders on 27th January 2010 regarding resolving of all the pending issues of daily wagers. At that time, Chief Minister assured that all our demands would be fulfilled within a period of 15 days, but in spite of that, no such action has been taken in this regard by the department as well as the administration even after the lapse of nine months. Such a situation is provoking the daily wagers to adopt this aggressive path in Support of their demands. The union leadership went from pillar to post and met several ministers as well as by these political leaders and bureaucrats. Such a step motherly treatment of the government is demoralizing these daily wagers who are the backbone of this Department. Union urged upon the Chief Minister of resolving this issue so that daily wagers may be able to come out of this trauma. They demanded regularization of daily wagers employed after 1994 and release of all the pending wages of the daily wagers. The demonstration was addressed by S Kulbeer Singh, Tarun Gupta, Deepak Sharma, Raj Kumar, Balvinder Singh, Surinder Kohli, Brij Raj Singh, Nagar Singh, Shashi, Angrez Singh and Vikas Samtra. |
