NC provincial president address workers meet Lalyana

Jammu, Sept 25: The provincial President of National Conference (NC) addressed workers meeting at lalyana (Bishnah) here today. The meeting was convened to discuss problems being faced by the locals of the area and organization matters. The local leaders apprised the provincial President about their day to day issues which came under discussion were unscheduled power cuts and shortage of portable drinking water. The people also informed him about the crop of the farmers which has been damaged due to recent heavy rains.
Addressing the meeting Gupta said coalition government under the chiefministership of Omar Abdullah is alive on all these issues which the workers raised in the meeting and in this direction the concerned officers are touring various areas and conducing special surveys to assess the losses. He assured them that he would take up these issues with the district authorities and ensure redressal of the problems.
Gupta further said that NC is committed to fulfill promises made to the people of the state during the elections of 2008. Various schemes and project have been taken into hand to mitigate the problems of the people in the state. In power sector the Govt. of India has provided funds to the schemes launched by the state to generate more power so that the requirements of the people in future is easily mitigated. But peace in the state is most auspicious subject to continue developmental activities in the state, but some anti social elements do not want progress and they are creating problems on one pretext or the other to disturb the peace of the state.
The meeting was also addressed by Smt. MLA Bimla Luthra who while speaking said that coalition government has taken various steps to uplift the womenfolk in the state as the womenfolk constitute 50% of the population of the state and without their active participation in the developmental activities the purpose to help them will not succed. She assured every possible help out her constituency development fund for rural and border areas present on the occasion include, Ayub Malik, Veena Oberoi, Lalita Sharma, Rekha Devi, Barti, Raj, Balbir Singh etc.
