| MIER celebrates NSS Day at Old Age Home | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 25: NSS unit of MIER College of Education celebrated the NSS Day with great enthusiasm by organizing a visit to the Old Age Home at Ambphalla. A number of activities were conducted at the Old Age Home to commemorate this occasion.
At the outset, Poonam Soni NSS programme officer welcomed the residents of the old age home in a formal meeting.
NSS volunteers and faculty members of the unit interacted with the inhabitants and also shared their valuable experiences with them.
To make the environment cheerful, some jokes were also exchanged between them .
To entertain the audience volunteers sang bhajans, and other songs and presented a skit on the topic "Youth of 21st century - A satire". They were also divided into groups for playing different games. Arun K Gupta chairman, MIER, and Renu Gupta principal, MIER College of Education applauded the role of NSS volunteers in participating & offering their valuable services to the society and also guided the volunteers to take on the social responsibility of contributing towards nation building. The NSS programme officer thanked the residents of old age home and authorities for giving them the opportunity to intermingle with the inmates and sharing their deep thoughts. |
