KYK scientists holds training prog | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Sept 25: Scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kathua organised one day in-service training programme on "Year Round Cultivation of Mushroom" under the overall guidance of Dr. K.S. Rissam, Director, Extension Education SKUAST-Jammu. More than 15 field/extension functionaries attended the programme. Dr Amrish Vaid, Programme coordinator, KVK, Kathua extended warm welcome to the participants. While welcoming the participants, Dr Vaid gave an overview of year round mushroom cultivation and its importance in employment generation. Dr Vaid stressed upon the extension personal to come forward and take the benefit of KVK, Kathua. He further discussed the management practices for diseases and insect pests in different types of mushroom. Dr Anamika Jamwal, SMS (Plant Protection), gave a detailed presentation on the cultivation of different types of mushrooms like white button, Dhingri and milky mushroom. Dr Berjesh Ajrawat SMS (Extension Education) highlighted the importance of self help groups and farmer's clubs in cultivation of mushroom. Dr. A. Manu Parmar SMS (Horticulture) emphasized on use of spent compost in organic vegetable cultivation. |
