| Two militants, jawan killed in Poonch encounter | | | Jammu, Oct 27 Two militants and a jawan were killed during an encounter with security forces in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir today.
On tip off, a joint team of Rashtriya Rifle troops and special operation group of police launched the operation in Kasbalari area of Mendhar tehsil in Poonch this afternoon, Defence sources said adding in the gunbattle two militants were killed.
A jawan, who sustained serious wounds in the on-going gunbattle, later expired in the hospital, they said.
The recoveries from slain militants included two AK rifles and some ammunition. Their identity is being ascertained, the sources said. |
