| Centre’s 8-point package a futile attempt, says Chaman | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 26:TERMING the 8-point formula presented by the Home Minister as another futile attempt in the name of restoration of peace, BJP Legislators Party, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta today said that it is a Kashmir Centric and a deplorable attempt to discriminate against Jammu and Ladakh. Citing many instances including one that no relief or compensation was granted by the Government to those nationalists who were killed during the Shri Amarnath land row in 2008, he said that certain provisions of this formula clearly depicts a bonus to violence and secessionism. The BJP leader said this while while addressing a function here at Krishnanagar and Pacca Talab to celebrate 95th Birth Day of late Deen Dayal Ji, who was found killed in mysterious circumstances in 1968, near Mughal Sarai Railway Station, when he was the President of Bhartiya Jana Sangh. Chaman said that the only answer to the Kashmir problem could be the enforcement of the law of the land with an outlook of nationalism but it was unfortunate that the ruling leadership of the Congress had always been buckling under internal and external pressures to appease communalism percolating from theoretic State of Pakistan. Had New Delhi gone with a spirit of patriotism and dealt firmly with religious terrorism in accordance with the philosophy of late Pandit Deen Dayal Uppadhayay that equal treatment to all and upliftment of the poor as enshrined in the Indian scriptures and preachings of great men, such problems would have been solved before their coming into being.. Paying tributes to Shri Deen Dayal Ji, the BJP leader narrated the incident of Doda during his visit to this State along with Pandit Prem Nath Dogra after Shri Dogra was elected as President of the BJS in 1955. When Shri Uppadahaya along with others reached Doda to address a public meeting, certain people with communal mindset started creating trouble but Shri Uppadayaya took the mike himself immediately and appealed that trouble makers that they should first hear him and if they did not like his views, they should not only pelt stones but also brick bats as they being human beings of a civilized and they should here every view point before expressing their approval or disapproval. Gupta asked the workers and others to go by the teachings of Shri Uppadhaya and devote their energies for upliftment of the poor and deprived sections of the society, in addition to the exposing the wrongs and follies of the Congress-NC Coalition which are detrimental to the unity and integrity of the country. This would be the real tribute to Deen Dayal, he added. The meeting was also addressed by former Cuncilors Murari Lal, Pushpa Wazir, Chander Mohan Gupta, Balwan Singh, Dinesh Gupta and prominent leaders including Bansi Lal Bharti, Madan Lal Dogra, Ajeet Angral, Parmood Kapai, Parduman Singh, Krishan Lal Gupta, Chander Mohan Sharma, Rakesh, Meera Samrala and others.
