| Health minister reprimands Kathua docs | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 25: Health Minister Shyam Lal Sharma is trying to fit in to the shoes of the firebrand MP CH Lal Singh. When Lal Singh was health minister in the Mufti Mohd Sayeed government his name was enough to discipline doctors as he went around hospitals and health centres in rural areas to bring the health services on track. On a similar visit to government hospital in Kathua, the health minister Shyam Lal Sharma took strong note of the casual behaviour of the doctors while discharging their duty. During his surprise visit to the hospital when health minister came across a team of doctors sitting inside the ward casually, he reprimanded them and directed them to stick to discipline while remaining on duty. "You are a doctor, behave like a doctor and follow the etiquettes, when one of the junior doctors on duty tried to explain his position, health minister snubbed him. "Do not talk, 'mawali ho aap' look at yourself is it the way a doctor should present himself," Sharma said. The health minister was apparently angry as doctors were roaming freely without even wearing mandatory white coats while on duty. During the visit, the minister reviewed the working of the government hospital and assured upgradation of medical health facilities. Another visiting minister from Kashmir Naseer Aslam Wani on Sunday visited Sidhra based Golf course and Mubarak Mandi heritage complex to review the ongoing work. Interestingly, all the ministers reaching Jammu have developed the habit of reviewing works on a similar pattern. They visit project sites one after the other and pass directions to the concerned authorities. Few days ago Chief Minister Omar Abdullah arrived in Jammu and went around various places including Mubarak Mandi, GMC, under construction lake in Bhagwati Nagar area to review the working of the projects.
