Educational tour for girl students flagged off

Lehsept 26: A 16-day long educational tour to Bodh Gaya and Allahabad for the girl students of Women
Empowerment Centre, Nimu (Leh) was flagged off today by Brig. D.S Gill of cdr Trishul Gunners, from Nimu Leh.
Addressing army personal and schoolchildren at a function in Nimu, 40 kms from Leh, Brig.D.S Gill emphasized the aim of present excursion was to provide an insight into the socio-economic condition and to explore the tradition and culture of Ladakh beyound Himalayas.
The students will visit the Buddhist religious centre i.e. Bodh Gaya and the Holy Sangam at Allahabad. In addition, the tour will also visit historical sites in Gaya and Allahabad and will also interact with military and civil delegation from others cities.
The participation of young women of the region in vocational training activities run under the aegis of Trishul Gunners have helped them towards self realization and generating employment opportunities.
