| Centre has surrendered before separatists: BJP | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 26: The present Congress-led UPA has surrendered before the separatists and those working towards weakening India’s sovereignty over the state. This was alleged by BJP State President, Shamsher Singh Manhas while addressing a workers rally at Bishnah. Manhas said it was indeed unfortunate that the Union government has adopted a total pro-Kashmir approach under its appeasement policy to grant what the separatists and the pro-Pakistan elements in the valley have been demanding. He said although high claims of ending discrimination with Jammu and Ladakh are being made but in practical it is the Kashmir only which receives preferential treatment in all matters and at all levels by the Union government. Manhas said that like Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh too are important regions of the State but are always ignored while taking decisions. The interests of Jammu and Ladakh are intentionally ignored as the governments at the centre and the state have taken these two regions for granted. He reminded the governments at the centre and in the state of 2008 land row agitation and said that the patience of the people of Jammu should not be tested as they have learnt to get what they deserve. Manhas also criticized the State government for declaring elections for Ladakh Autonomous Hill Council when thousands of people in Leh are still living in tents in these days of minus 1 degree temperature and rehabilitation operations are being undertaken at snail’s pace. The government should adopt an human approach and take rehabilitation process on war footing rather than concentrating on holding of elections, which can be held when the situation is conducive for the same. Declaring to launch a massive agitation in the coming days after consultations with the pro-Jammu and patriotic people, Manhas said "enough is enough" and we can’t sit as mute spectators over the decisions which harm the interests of Jammu and Ladakh, demoralizes the security forces and nationalist people and encourages such elements which pose threat to the unity and integrity of the country. Satish Sharma, Sat Sharma (C.A.), Prof. Gharu Ram, Shilpi Verma, Munish sharma, Raj Singh, Bishan Choudhary, Mahant Madan, Sat Pal Brar, Dharminder Kumar, Narayan Sharma, Raju Bhatia, Bhola Singh and Gansham also addressed the public rally.
