| Hindi Play ‘Kahani Ek Kuttey Ki’ staged by Natrang in Sunday Theatre | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 26: Hindi play ‘Kahani Ek Kuttey Ki’ directed by Balwant Thakur featured here today in Natrang’s weekly Theatre series ‘Sunday Theatre’. Based on a Russian short Story by Anton Chekhov the play proved to be the hard hitting satire on the present socio-political system. The adaptation of the play was deeply rooted in the soil of Jammu and its dramatic structure made the audience feel as if they are watching their own story.
Natrang has been endeavoring to showcase highly relevant political and social satires and todays play demonstrated to be the shining example of that.
The play Kahani Ek Kuttey Ki revolves around a Dog and corrupt Police Officer, who changes colours like a chameleon, every time as the situation changes irrespective of right or wrong.
Mohit Sharma as police officer portrayed aesthetically the swift changes of colours of the central character and was equally supported by Rohit Verma as his true subordinate. Amarpret Kandhari as the senior officer successfully exhibited the complexities of the senior bureaucrats. Among others who gave impressive performances included Rahul Singh as thief, Pankush Verma as Minister’s Servant, Sachin Saini as Dog, Others who acted well included Mohd. Yaseen, Ishfaq Anwar, Ravinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Sumit Sambyal, Ricky Bhatt and Kuldeep Mehra.. The presentations of the show were done by Sumeet Sharma.
