EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, Sept 26: A doctor allegedly misbehaved with a cop after the latter went to the sub-district hospital (SDH), Mandi, to enquire about a case as part of his official duty. After police received an information that a girl had consumed poison and was undergoing treatment at the SDH, Mandi, cop Sartar Ahmad was sent to probe into the incident and also take the girl's statement. Police sources said when Sartaj approached Dr Ajay Deep Singh, who had reportedly washed the girl's stomach, he allegedly misbehaved with him and refused to speak to him on the issue. "I was manhandled by the doctor when I requested him to help him in the case," Sartaj alleged. "I was just performing my official duty when the doctor misbehaved with me," he alleged. When contacted, Dr Ajay said, "We are not accountable to media. This is our issue, you need not to worry about it." Block medical officer, Mandi, said the doctor could not cooperate with police because he was treating a patient. Director health services, Dr Jasbir Singh, however, said he would enquire into the alleged incident of misbehavour by the doctor with police in SDH, Mandi. |
