| Employee alleges harassment by Div Com, seeks compensation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 27: In a rarest of the rare case, an employee filed a suit for recovery of Rs 50,000 as compensation against senior officer of State. In a suit filed by Jagdev Singh, senior Assistant in the office of Assistant Commissioner, Nazool, Jammu for recovery of Rs 50,000 with interest on account of unnecessarily harassing and torturing him by then Divisional Commissioner, Jammu by delaying acceptance of application which was filed by the petitioner forgoing his promotion as Head Assistant.
Sub Judge, Jammu, M. R. Chak after hearing petitioner in person and Adv Sanjay Kakkar for then Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, B.R. Sharma and gone through the suit filed by the petitioner for recovery of Rs 50,000 as compensation with interest and observed that suit of petitioner is decreed in his favour against then Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, B.R. Sharma with costs and he is held entitled to compensation of Rs 50,000 along with interest at 9 % from the date of filling of suit till its realization. JNF
