Tare Chak, Samka Shahpur win in T20 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, September 27: In the ongoing Twenty20 Friendship Cricket Tournament, organised by J&K State Sports Council, Tare Chak Club and Samka Shahpur Club won their respective matches to move into the next round at Bana Singh Stadium, R S Pura, here today. In the first match of the day, Tara Chak Club defeated Satrayian Club by 17 runs. Batting first, after winning the toss, Tare Chak set a target of 124 runs for the loss of nine wickets. In reply, Satrayian Club could not chase the total and completed their allotted overs at a score of 10 with two wickets in hand. Vinod Kumar was adjudged man of the match for his 37-ball 47 runs knock which helped Tare Chak clinch a win. Later, in the second match of the day, Samka Shahpur Club beat Kotli Arjun Singh Club by a narrow margin of four runs. Earlier, batting first, Samka Shahpur made 81 runs losing eight wickets. Rahul Choudhary was top scorer with 39 runs, whereas, Vicky took four wickets from Kotli Arjun Club. Batting second, Kotli Arjun Club could make only 77 runs for the loss of nine wickets with Maninder Singh (19) being maximum scorer. From Samka Shahpur, Amba and Rahul Choudhary took two wickets each. For his all round performance, Rahul Choudhary was declared man of the match. Today’s matches were officiated by Suresh Singh, Madan and Jagtar Singh. The ongoing tournament is being held under the supervision of Varinder Sharma and Naveen Sharma.
