Double murder case solved, three held
3 police officers recommended for award

Jammu, Sept 27: With the arrest of three accused allegedly involved in the murder of mother and daughter, police has claimed to have solved a blind murder case.
Addressing a press conference, DIG Jammu Kathua range Farooq Khan said that after fifteen days hectic investigation police finally cracked down the blind murder case.
DIG said that on September 1, Krishna Devi wife of late Gayan Chand and her daughter Rajni Devi and a minor girl Cajole were burnt while they were sleeping in their respective residences in village Gigryal of Akhnoor at night. Trio was rushed to the GMC hospital where mother and daughter succumbed to injuries after eighteen days battle for life while the minor girl is still battling for life.
Police as a part of investigation lifted their neighbour Parkash Chand alias Kakku as he had marks of injuries on his legs. During interrogation, he told police that he met with an accident few days ago which left mark of injuries on his body. For verification, he was taken to the hospital where doctors confirmed burnt injuries which exposed the Kakku. During interrogation, he told police that he along with his two companions Rashpal and Garu Ram entered into their residence at night with a bad intention where after having scuffle with them, the duo sprinkled kerosene on them and put them on fire. On the disclosure of the Kakku, police conducted raid at the residence of the two other accused and arrested them. A case under section 302 RPC has been registered against the accused, DIG maintained
Meanwhile, to keep the prestige of the police high DIG announced recommendation of the names of three police officers- Additional SP Rural Mohan Lal, SDPO Nagrota Faisal Qureshi and SHO Bus stand Parvez Sajid to higher authority for award to solve the blind murder of the taxi driver Gurpreet Singh .
