| Daily wagers union hold demonstration | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 27: All J&K PDD Daily Wagers Union (AJKPDDDWU) continue expressing resentment against the government for not paying any attention to their requests even after continuous 72 hours long protest demonstration in the office of chief engineer, EM & RE Wing, Canal Road, under the chairmanship of Kulbeer Singh, Provincial President.
In the ongoing protest demonstration, union leaders raised slogans against the chief minister Omar Abdullah for non fulfillment of his promise made with the union leaders on 27th Jan 2010 regarding resolving of all the pending issues of daily wagers. Leaders said, chief minister assured that all demands would be fulfilled within a period of 15 days, but inspite of that, no such action has been taken in this regard by the administration even after the lapse of nine months.
The union leadership went from pillar to post and met several ministers as well as PDD officials but the unions could not seek justice. Only fake assurances were extended by these political leaders and bureacurates. Such a step motherly treatment of the government is demoralizing these poor daily wagers may be able to come out of this trauma, as these daily wagers have been facing a lot of hardships.
The demands of the union are regularization of daily wagers employees employed after 1994 and release of all the pending wages of the daily wagers/ need basis.
The union appeals all the daily wagers of the PDD to give a complete hault by observing tool down-pen down strike and stop the functioning in the offices, to pressurize the government as well as the department for immediate redressal of our grievances Tarun Gupta, Dheeraj Singh, Balvinder Singh, Surinder Kohli, Brij Raj Singh, Nagar Singh, Shashi, Angrez Singh, Vikas Samotra and others.
